Just a thought.

Recently I've joined a facebook page titled, "Proud Parents of Unvaccinated Children." The basis of the page, and my arguments on the anti-vax movement is this: Educate yourself. Know what's being put into your child's body. Know the body's reaction. Not every vaccine IS necessary.

I digress. Back to the point of this entry...

So on this page the last week, stories have been emerging of vaccine-injured children and it got me thinking. Typically anti-vax stories go like this: we vaccinated like normal, my kid had a bad reaction (sometimes so bad, death was the result); and now we are anti-vax. Or, I did a lot of research and decided against vaccines. But I've NEVER once heard: we didn't vaccinate, my kid was horribly sick, and now we do vaccinate.

Do stories like this exist?
Is there any parent who truly did their research (like hours of looking up scientific studies and information... not bogus internet stories...) that also decided to stick with the vaccine schedule as it is?

I'm just curious because out of the thousands of stories I've heard - ALL became aware and educated about vaccines, and decided to either take some out of the equation or to stop vaccinating all together.

I am the latter.

My son is going to be 14 months in a couple weeks, and he is happy, healthy, and ahead on quite a few milestones.

Now, please don't mistake me for one of those who is trying to get everyone and their brother to stop vaccinating. I'm not. Everyone has a right to parent to their choosing. I am, however, urging you to please educate yourself. You owe it to your children to know the 115 antigens that will be injected into their precious little bodies by their 2nd birthday.
